With the main line up for the 2024 Download Festival complete, the team at Download HQ (including our friends Jenny and Dannika, who you will be able to read an in-depth interview with very soon) have been hard at work putting together the District X line up. For those not familiar with District X, it is the name for the area in the Download Festival village where the Wednesday and Thursday, and after hours entertainment takes place. Known as the Doghouse in it’s previous life, District X now encompasses a 10,000 strong capacity main tent, as well as a second stage and more!
Providing entertainment across the full five days of Download 2024 for those who arrive to camp as soon as the gates open and beyond, the line up for District X 2024 has more variety than ever before. Guest DJs, special live performances, live editions of well known podcasts and special performances for the kids at Download from the likes of Slay Duggee are just some of the things on offer!
Among the huge range of things on offer are a guest DJ performance from Busted and Fightstar main man Charlie Simpson, while our pals Bowling For Soup will be doing double duty, with frontman Jaret Reddick and bassist Rob Felicetti bringing their very special acoustic show to District X. Similarly doing double duty, Welsh rock favourites Those Damn Crows are bringing their popular podcast, Crowcast to District X for the first time. Sappenin Podcast, the popular pod featuring Morgan Richards and The Blackout / Raiders’ Sean Smith also returns to Download for a special live edition featuring Kerrang Radio’s Alex Baker and Radio 1 Star / Kerrang Radio Alum Alyx Holcombe. Special mention must also go to the annual boardie takeover (renamed the Community Takeover this year), giving several up and coming bands the chance to take to the Download stage in District X on the Wednesday of this years’ festival.
There are further DJ sets from everyone from Jon Mahon to Gemma Edwards (Gem Precious), Face Down, Uprawr, Y’Allternative and so many more. Our very own Charlotte Claber is also hitting the decks as part of She They Press Play! On the funny side (literally), Andrew O’Neill brings his History Of Heavy Metal comedy show to District X. There’s Emo Drag Karioke, Rock Fit for the early rises, and Rock Kids and the mighty Slay Duggee for the younger members of the Download Festival family. Download Festival 2024 (the main festival) is headlined by Queens Of The Stone Age, Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold. Across the weekend you can also enjoy the likes of Bad Omens, Royal Blood, Black Stone Cherry, Busted, The Offspring, Enter Shikari, Pantera, While She Sleeps, Holding Absence, The Black Dahlia Murder, Machine Head, Sum 41 (last ever UK festival!), Bowling For Soup, Creeper, Kerry King, Code Orange and so many more.
