Black Sabbath Announce ‘Back To The Beginning’ Reunion Show At Villa Park

Despite having seemingly brought their epic career to a close back in February 2017. Ending with an iconic two night show at Birminghams Resorts World Arena. Black Sabbath shocked fans around the world yesterday when they announced one final show together!

Set to take place on Saturday July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham. The reunion has been rumoured and hinted at for years. Particularly by guitarist Tony Iommi. However, as time has worn on and Ozzy Osbournes health issues have become more and more apparent, it began to feel like a pipe dream that would never come to fruition. Until earlier this week that is, when the band officially announced their return to the stage.

It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born.” Ozzy Osbourne said of the recently announced reunion. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

Formed in Birmingham in the late sixties. Black Sabbath have blazed a trail that has influenced countless musicians. Selling over 75 million records over their five decade long career, they became one of the most influential bands ever to tread the stage. Arguably creating the entire heavy metal genre along the way. Making them every bit as important today as they were when their debut album landed on shelves back in 1970 and making their farewell show one of, if not the hottest ticket of 2025.

As is befitting such a historic event, the band will be joined by a who’s who of heavy metal too. With Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax and Mastodon all performing. As well as a solo set from The Prince of Darkness himself, rounding out an amazing day of music.

The list of luminaries slated to be in attendance doesn’t end there either. Black Sabbath will also be joined by rock and royalty like Billy Corgan, Duff McKagan, Slash, Jake E Lee, Zakk Wylde, Fred Durst, Tom Morello, Jonathan Davis, KK Downing, David Draiman and many, many more!

Tickets for this auspicious event are scheduled to go on sale on Friday February 14th. With all profits from the show to be divided equally between Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
